Tips to Make Your Home Office More Energy Efficient

Blog Action Day has arrived, and I am excited to participate with the WorkShak blog. Today’s topic, which will be canvassed all over the Internet on several blogs is the environment. Here at WorkShak, we are going to focus on how to make your home office more energy efficient. Here are some tips:

Set your computer to sleep mode when not actively in use

At night, unplug your home business electronics (unless you expect something like an incoming fax)

Switch out your regular incandescent light bulbs for more energy efficient CFL bulbs

Check to make sure your home office is well insulated

Regulate the temperature in your home

Use recycled paper for documents (and recycle your paper!)

Try to order supplies from environmentally-friendly companies

Look for business partners with eco-friendly practices

The good news is that since your home office is in your home, you can expand your energy efficient efforts to include more of your house – and it will positively affect your home office as well.
